This scene is showing the first major dispute that Ralph and Jack had over meat and shelters. It is relating to the theme because it is showing the civilization vs. savagery problems starting.
"But we want meat."
"I was talking about smoke! Don't you want to be rescued? All you can talk about is pig, pig, pig!
In this scene it is explaining the time when the little maulbury kid goes missing after he said something about seeing a beast. The theme is all created around this beast like thing so when this happens it worries some of the boys.
Piggy fell against a rock and clutched it with both hands.
"That little' un that had a mark on his face-where is-he now? I tell you I don't see him."
When Simon finds his peaceful alone place away from everyone and all the troubles is what is happening here. It is related to the theme because in his own sense he is creating his own civilization.
Simon turned away from them and went where the just perceptible path led him. Soon high jungle closed in.
"I cut the pig's throat." said Jack, proudly.
The things that are taking place in this scene is when Jack had killed the Pig for the meat. It ties in with the theme because it shows how he is reverting to savagery and going wild.
As this scene goes on Jack and his hunters circle around Simon and end up killing him while Ralph and Piggy just stand in the back. The theme is civilization vs. savagery and this is completey savagery because they kill one of their boys that were a huge impact on all of them.
"Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!"
