Mr Puleo Class - Alexander and Joshil
Hera was the goddess of marriage and childbirth
People went to temples built in her honour to pray to her. They often prayed for a good marriage, to successfully have a child and for that child to be healthy and for Hera to protect the child
People sometimes gave her gifts, such as sculptures of her, objects with her name on them and sacrificial cakes. They then burnt them with fire.
Hera is commonly seen with animals that she considers majestic, such as the lion, cow and peacock.
Hera was also known for her jealous and vengeful nature against Zeus' numerous lovers and illegitimate offspring, as well as the mortals who cross her
