Storyboard Text

  • A young boy named Nanak was born in Talwandi, India. He was born into a Hindu family.
  • Nanak thought about God a lot as he grew up. One day his father gave him 20 rupees to buy something and make a profit but instead, Nanak spent it on food for three starving monks.
  • Here You Are
  • Thank You
  • Nanak's first job was a shopkeeper at Sultanpur. He would spread the message of God and people began to call him a Guru (teacher).
  • One day, Nanak went for a bath in the river but then he disappeared, only his clothes remained. The whole town searched but no one found him for 3 days.
  • He then appeared and remained silent for a day. When he spoke, he said he had been with God. He was told to spread God's Message.
  • He travelled all over India teaching his message. His followers became Sikhs (learners) and he became known as Guru Nanak, God's teacher.
