Storyboard Text

  • The Cask of Amontillado
  • "For all of your insults, Fortunato, I will have revenge!"
  • "I bought this great Amontillado. Will you taste it?"
  • "Yes! I am far better than Luchesi. Lead me to your vaults!"
  • By Edgar Allen Poe Lucy Borkowski
  • "I warn you, the nitre will get to you in the damp vaults."
  • "I am healthy. Wine will serve as my antidote."
  •  Long ago, in the 1800s during the carnival season in Italy, a man by the name of Montresor vowed to seek revenge on Fortunato.
  • "I am fine; a cough will not kill me."
  • "True."
  • Montresor knows Fortunato loves wine, so he asks him to taste his Amontillado, a light Spanish sherry, but hints that another man, Luchesi, could taste it as well.
  • "A human foot crushing a serpent with the inscription, 'No one attacks me with imputiny.'"
  • "What is your coat of arms?"
  • One night, Montresor strategically leaves his servants at the carnival and invites Fortunato to his underground vaults covered in nitre, a white mineral.
  • Coughing from the nitre, Fortunato drinks more wine to compensate for his health while Montresor hints that he should drink more wine so he won't die.
  • Having had too much wine at the carnival, Fortunato is tipsy while he views the Montresor's vaults which are full of dead bodies and the family coat of arms.
