Storyboard Text

  • What is that?
  • I'm sorry dear, but you have contracted HIV.
  • HIV is a retrovirus that enters helper T cells, disabling them for future use.
  • There, it changes the DNA in your helper T cell, forcing your cell to make more of the virus.
  • There is a treatment for this though. The medicine will stop and destroy viruses.
  • If you stop, however, the virus will return.
  • Unfortunately, some people cannot afford the medicines.
  • I'm sorry. I cannot give you the medicine anymore without funding.
  • Now, there is hope for new treatments. Scientists hope to cut out the virus DNA.
  • This will prevent new viruses from being created by the helper T cells.
