Act 3, Scene 1

Storyboard Text

  • Benvolio and Mercutio meet in a public place
  • The day is hot, the Capulets abroad, And If we meet, we shall not scrape a brawl; For now, these hot days, is the mad blood stirring
  • Come, come, thou art as hot a Jack in thy mood as any in Italy, and as soon moved to be moody, and as soon moody to be moved
  • Tybalt appears and Mercutio starts an argument, Romeo appears and tries to break them up.
  • Come, sir, your passado.
  • Gentle Mercutio, put thy rapier up.
  • I am for you.
  • Tybalt stabs Mercutio under Romeo's arm, then runs away
  • Why the devil did you come between us? I was hurt under your arm.
  • I thought it all for the best.
  • Thou, wretched boy, that didst consort him here, shalt with him hence
  • Romeo, away, be gone! The citizens are up and Tybalt slain. Stand not amazed: the Prince will doom they death. If thou art taken: hence, be gone, away!
  • Tybalt, here slain, whom Romeo's hand did slain...
  • Romeo slew him, he slew Mercutio; Who now the price of his dear blood doth owe?
