Here I have my friend Brandon and this is our last goodbye before going off to college. I have learned a lot in high school. Life lessons that will stick with me forever. I believe my experinces throughout high school is what made me seek change and change my believes.
She has explained to me three of her basic morals to follow in life; "trust no one", "speak up for what you think is right" and "don't be scared of change, dont be a follower"
Going off to college and being surrounded by a new environment full of people you don't really know well can be quite overwhelming. It is these type of days where i wish i were back home. More than anything i realize that trusting people you don't really know that well is extremely challenging. Building trust with someone takes time and more than anything you must really have a strong relationship with them.
Additionally many get nervous to speak against what most people believe in. Don't ever forget that your words matter and whenever you feel like something isn't going the right way for you, you should always speak up and express how you feel.
When one notices that someone is being left out and not being included in the group, it is important that we take time to stop and ask this person if they'd like to do something with the rest of the group. Leaving someone out of the group can be quite upsetting for the person that is experiencing it because they get no one to talk to all because everyone might think they're weird. It is worth trying to talk to them and learning about them.
Fearing change and following others for direction are possibly the 2 worst things a person can do. By not allowing yourself to experience a little change in your life you're preventing yourself from changing and learning as a person over the years. If you follow someone else's believes all your life you will never know what it is to think for yourself and seek out what you desire in life.
After today I have used the lessons that my friend had taught back at home before i left for college. I have realized that there is no such thing as a perfect life but there are morals that can be followed by everyone in their lives in order to be happy and content with their lives.
