Remember everyone, the difference between nonrenewable resources and renewable resources is that something nonrenewable can't be replaced while a renewable resource can.
Is fossil fuel a renewable or non renewable resource?
Good question. A fossil fuel is a resource such as coal or gas that comes from living organisms from the past. This would mean that it is usually non renewable.
Burning fossil fuel is not good for our planet, because we are causing pollution by burning coal. A cleaner method of doing the opposite is by using hydroelectric power and geothermal power. Instead of burning coal, we can use hydroelectric power that is commonly enabled by the use of dams. These dams store water from rivers in a reservoir. Then the water is released so that it can flow through and spin a turbine. This turbine then activates a generator to produce energy. Geothermal energy is just heat that is stored in the earth.
Can ore be the cause of pollution in the air?
Well smelting an ore is a method of applying heat to get the base metal that is within a rock or sediment. Theses ores could contain elements such as iron or gold.
