Hello, My name is Ralph Eugene Meatyard and I am a famous American Photographer.
I was born May 15, 1925 and I passed May 7, 1972. Just as an opener, although it may not look great, this setting behind me would be an ideal spot to take a great picture!
My works and photographs became popular at around the time of my death and I famously used masks and dolls as my main subjects in some of my photos.
As an addition to my black and white pictures, I took the "dolls and masks" photos at abandonded houses and barns to add a sense of uneasiness to the viewer.
I was born in the town of Normal, Illinois in 1925. As I grew up, I attended a series of summer workshops run by Indiana University. These workshops were taught by Henry Holmes Smith where I found interest in photography as my main hobby.
I also involved my researching in another field as well which was optometry, aka the study of examining another’s eyes. I tried to open up my own eye care store.
