  • Jordan and Gatsby in private
  • Gatsby throws shirts all over and Daisy cries
  • Daisy confesses her love for Gatsby in front of Tom
  • "I've just heard the most amazing thing,"-Jordan Baker pg.33. Gatsby tells Jordan something we wont know later on I the book and it creates suspense .
  • Nick, Tom, and Jordan talk after Gatsby and Daisy storms out
  • "They're such beautiful shirts," she sobbed, her voice muffled in the thick folds. "It makes me sad because I've never seen such—such beautiful shirts before."-Daisy pg.118. This is important because or portrays that Daisy loves Gatsby, but can never be with him because she is married to Tom.
  • Daisy kills Myrtle
  • "You always look so cool"-Daisy Daisy says in front of Tom and it is a symbol that Daisy is trying to say that he always looks good and that she loves him and Tom catches on what she is trying to say and doesn't like it.
  • Gatsby's dreams come to an end
  • "Her voice is full of money"-Nick-Pg.99. Nick is saying Daisy is that type of girl to with the flow and find a man with a lot of money and was born rich. That's why Gatsby is faking about being born rich to win Daisy back.
  • "Did you see and trouble on the road?" he asked after a minute. "yes." he hesitated. "was she killed?" "yes." "i thought so; i told Daisy I thought so. It's better that the shock should all come at once. she stood it pretty well." He spoke as if Daisy's reaction was the only thing that mattered.-Nick and Gatsby-pg.14 Gatsby is saying he didn't care if they killed Myrtle, he only cared for Daisy, but Tom did care about Myrtle and Tom didn't know Daisy killed her, he thought Gatsby did
  • "It was after we started with Gatsby toward the house that the gardener saw Wilson's body a little way off in the grass, and the holocaust was complete."-pg.112-114 George kills Gatsby because Tom lied and told him that Gatsby killed her. And this is a symbol of the death of the American dream because Gatsby was rich and successful and he got killed and everything ended.
