  • A new student arrives at school today. She is worried nobody will want to be her friend.
  • Hello class! Please welcome E.M, she is a new student in our class.
  • Class. We need to discuss bullying and gender identity. In this class, we respect each other regardless of our gender identity.
  • Hey what's your name stand for E.M.?
  • What a great question. Let's begin the discussion by reading a story: "I am Jazz".
  • M is for my last name- Mathews. When I was a boy my name was Emmanuel. But now that I'm a girl I just want to be called E.M.
  • What! How can a boy become a girl?Gosh, this new kid is SO weird! I'm going to tell everyone not to be her friend!
  • Art class.
  • Recess. Ms.K overhears her students bullying E.M.
  • Hey, don't play with that girl. She's so weird!She says she used to be a boy!
  • Yah, your right! I would even talk to her!
  • I hate this new school. I have no friends. I hate myself! No one understands me!
  • Back in the classroom. Ms. K knows she needs to stop the bullying.
  • I'm not a bully!

  • I am Jazz
  • Wow I can really relate to this story! I feel included!
