During the election Richard Nixon was doing really and was beating John F. Kennedy in all the debates before the last one. Nixon was sick, so he was sweating and looked nervous. Kennedy realized that it was his chance to give his best and win over the people while Nixon was not doing his best and was in a week point in the election. Kennedy ended up beating Nixon by 84 votes.
There were a lot of good things that JFK did and here is some of them. He took the U.S. economy out of recession through his reforms, he established the peace corps, he averted nuclear war through his negotiations with the Soviet Union Leader. And he also worked for civil rights for African Americans.
John F. Kennedy was assassinated at 12:30 p.m. on 22nd November 1963, in Dallas, Texas while traveling with his wife Jackie Kennedy. The assassin Lee Harvey Oswald denied having committed the crime and never tried in court and he was fatally shot by a Dallas nightclub owner Jack Ruby. Ruby said that he was deeply upset about JFK'S murder and also wanted to spare Jackie Kennedy the discomfort of a trial. The president after JFK was Lyndon Johnson.
