Storyboard Text

  • To Kill a Mockingbird By. Horton Foote
  • Speech
  • "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view, until you climb inside his skin and walk around in it. (Pg.35)
  • Effect on others
  • "... but to remember it is a sin to kill a mockingbird." (Pg.33)
  • Character Analysis of Atticus Finch
  • Actions
  • Atticus doesn't say anything when Bob Ewell spits in his face. (Pg.71)
  • You never know what someone may be going through, until you put yourself in their position. You should never judge someone based on what you hear from others. They don't even know what could be going on in their life.
  • Looks
  • "He gestures with hand holding hat" (Pg.14)
  • You should never hurt someone that has done no harm to you! Like a mockingbird, all they do is sing. They don't cause any harm, or destruction. Why would you want to hurt someone/something that probably doesn't even know who you are..?
  • Summary of Atticus Finch
  • Atticus is a very tough guy! There aren't very many people out there like that. Most people wouldn't take someone spitting in their face the way Atticus had. But, if you do respond in a way that shows you're angered it only adds fuel to the fire.
  • Atticus is very polite and formal. A true gentleman treats everyone with respect. To get respect, you must give it! Atticus does very well with doing his part!
  • Overall, Atticus is a caring, loving, and protective father to his two children, Scout and Jem Finch. He is very sophisticated and good with his words. He never allows something immature get to him. Atticus is teaching his children to be civilized and respectful, just like him.
