Storyboard Text

  • Who should I consider?
  • The Effects of Texting and Driving By Breanna Crittenden With the rise of technology, texting and driving has become a very detrimental and sometimes deadly issue.
  • You
  • Family
  • Your actions and choices do not just affect you. Every action has a reaction and most times the reaction extends beyond you, this is why it is vital to consider other people in your decisions.
  • Friendships
  • Texting and driving is dangerous. Although it may not always lead to death, you could get in an accident and harm yourself. Texting and driving distracts your mind and emotions from what is important, driving. If you were to be injured, this could prohibit you from doing your job.
  • Community
  • That's the girl who hit my mailbox because she was texting and driving.
  • So say you do get in an accident due to texting and driving, your parents would be angry because you would raise the insurance premiums and the car would need repairs. If the accident was fatal, your family would have to live knowing they lost a loved one due to a text message.
  • So what?
  • The Take Away Teenagers do not always fully process the consequences of their actions before they make a decision. They may think, "I'll just send this one message and then put my phone down." But that one message could be the last. No message is worth your life or anyone elses.
  • Young drivers often have their friends in the car with them. If you get in an accident because of texting and driving, your friends may not trust you to drive them anywhere. If the crash is fatal for your friend, you would live with the guilt of causing their death.
  • Texting and driving could cause damage to city property, it could also give you a bad name from your community. People in your community would feel unsafe due to texting and driving.
  • Always remember, the text message can wait. Your life cannot. Drive now. Text later.
