  • March 17, 1865: A plot hatched by John Wilkes Booth to kidnap President Lincoln is aborted when the president fails to make a scheduled trip to a soldiers' hospital.
  • April 14,1865 John Booth fired a derringer pistol in Abraham Lincoln left ear and lodge behind his right ear at a performance and was rushed by a doctor
  • Dr. Charles Leale did a medical examination on Lincoln, and he was carried to a bedroom by the peterson house and dies at 7:22 a.m on April 15 1865
  • May 4,1865: Abraham Lincoln's body is laid to rest in a vault in Springfield Oak Ridge Cemetery.
  • May 10, 1865: An army military commission will give Surratt, Herold, Powell, and Atzerodt a death penalty, while the remaining defendants are sentenced to imprisonment
  • July 7,1865: George Atzerodt, David Herold, Lewis Powell, and Mary Surratt are executed by hanging at the Old Penitentiary in Washington, for their part in the assassination conspiracy.
