Storyboard Text

  • (Prologue) After Oedipus died, his two twin sons, Polynieces & Eteocles, battle for the throne of Thebes. Just as Tiresias said, they ended up killing each other in battle. Antigone
  • (Episode 2) The Sentry brings Antigone to Creon and tells the king that Antigone was the one who buried Polynieces. He sentences her to death.
  • "And now you can prove what you are: a true sister or a traitor to your family." (27-8)
  • (Episode 3) Haemon, Antigone's fiancé, tries to reason with his father about his decision.
  • (Prologue) Antigone and Ismene discuss the burial of their brother, Polynieces. Antigone decides to rightfully bury her brother without Ismene.
  • "But think of the danger! Think what Creon will do!" (34)
  • (Episode 1) Creon takes over as King of Thebes and royally declares that Polynieces shall not be properly buried. He claims he's a traitor.
  • (Episode 4) Creon goes through with his word, regardless of Haemon's reasoning. Antigone is marching towards her dreadful fate.
  • "As long as I am king, no traitor is going to be honored with the loyal man." (44-45)
  • "This girl is guilty of a double insolence, breaking the given laws and boasting of it!" (80-81)
  • "I knew I must die, even without your decree: I am only mortal." (64-65)
  • "Do you want me to show myself weak before the people? Or to break my sworn word? No, and I will not. The woman dies. (26-28)
  • "Then she must die. But her death with cause another." (119)
  • "O tomb, vaulted bride-bed in eternal rock, Soon I shall be with my own again." (58-59)
