  • Cabinet Battle discussing the Hamilton’s financial plan
  • We need to pay off war debts, raise government revenues, and create a national bank 
  • Whiskey Rebellion
  • how could they do this to us!

  • The French Revolution
  • Hamilton was on a quest to figure out America's financial problems. He came up with a 3 step plan that not everyone agreed with. His plan wanted the states to pay off the debt but the south had already paid off theirs. Jefferson also stated that a nation bank would go against the constitution.
  • Washington retires
  • Goodbye my friend
  • Part of Hamilton's financial plan the government placed a tax on whiskey, and people were not happy about that. Farmers were outraged and resisted the tax. In the summer of 1794, some farmers beat up a tax collector and tar and feathered him.
  • XYZ Affair 
  • We will talk if you give us 10 million dollars 
  • In 1789 the French people rebelled against the government, demanding liberty and equality. The Americans supported it at first then it became very violent and they remembered what Washington said about neutrality so they held back. thousands of French citizens were murdered. Then in 1793, the king of France was executed.
  •  Alien & Sedition Acts
  • Washington is retiring, after 8 years in office, he thinks it is time to leave. He gives 2 warnings that he says you need to follow. Stay neutral don't side with anyone and political debates being bad.
  • Three French agents who later referred to as x, y and z took the Americans side. they did this to tell the Americans that the minister would only hold talks if Americans loaned France 10 million dollars and bribe the minister &250,000. to which America replied with no.
  •  A Democratic-Republican called Adams "blasted tyrant of America." In return, Federalists said "Democrats, mobcrats, and other kinds of rats" To silence the critics the Federalist Congress passed the Alien and Sedition Acts in 1798 which in one act increased the waiting period for becoming a U.S. citizen from 5 years to 14 years.
