The king of Thebes Laius and the queen of Thebes Jocasta had a son.
A oracle named Teiresias told Laius and Jocast that their newborn son would kill his father and marry his mother.The king and queen were so upset that they gave their baby to a shepherd. They told the shepherd to leave the infant to die.
The shepherd felt bad for the baby so he gave him to a Corinthian shepherd who gave the baby to a childless king and queen of Corinth.
The king and queen of Corinth named the boy Oedipus. When Oedipus found out that they were not his real parents he ran away. On the way he ran into an arrogant old man and Oedipus killed him.
Oedipus arrived in Thebes, he solved a riddle to lift the curse. People welcomed him as a savior so he married the queen of Thebes.
Jocasta and Oedipus had four kids together. When Jocasta found out that her husband was also her son she killed herself and Oedipus made himself blind.
