  • guys i'm getting mad can i please have food
  • we're gonna destroy your big military prison
  • let's have a meeting and we can talk about it
  • 1790
  • no god but i
  • we're still hungry so we're uniting now
  • Louis XVI takes the throne of France amidst famine and poverty. The grain riots in northern France grow more severe as the price of bread skyrockets. 
  • 1791
  • The people of Grenoble call for big changes. The Estates General, a gathering of representatives from all three Estates, holds elections and meets again. The Third Estate renames itself the "National Assembly."  The National Guard is formed. The Bastille is stormed on July 14. The Great Fear begins, and the Revolution officially starts.

  • all your prisoners are dead because we were mad at you so now we're the bad guys
  • King Louis XIV begins suppressing certain religious practices, and the National Assembly abolishes nobility and titles that divide it.
  • 1793
  • Mirabeau is elected as president of the French Assembly, and dies around five months later of a heart condition. The Third Estate removes monopolies and guilds. The King tries his best to flee, but is forced to return.  The French Assembly reinstates him, and the National Guard fires on protesters.

  • The September Massacres of inmates in French prisons occur. This is sometimes considered the first act of terror in the French Revolution by the rebels.

  • Louis XVI is executed. The Committee of Public Safety is granted absolute power, and the Great Terror begins. Grain is given a maximum price, but the riots continue.
