Smith Takes Control
We must build this colony up fort hose who will come after us.
This Smith fella is a brave courteous leader i would follow him.
May, 1607. 150 English men and woman set sail to the new world to start a colony. After setting sail from England they arrive in Virginia by the Chickahominy river, and named it Jamestown after their king.
The first leader of Jamestown was Edward Wingfeild he was very greedy and hoarded the best food and drink for himself. The second was Ratcliffe a lazy unmotivated leader.
Capt. John Smith was made president after Ratcliffe was deposed he assigned jobs, and began searching for food. Smith despite criticism was the best leader of Jamestown. Smith led his people into negotiations with the natives and secured trade for England.
