  • The climax of the story was when the sun came out
  • Theme: people are sometimes mean to people who are different. The text says," They surged about her, caught her up, and bore her, protesting and then pleading and then crying, back into a tunnel, a room, a closet, where they slammed and locked the door."
  • One external conflict in the story was man vs nature since it always rained on Venus until 7 years came
  • "The children lay out, laughing, on the jungle mattress and heard it sigh and squeak under them, resilient and alive." The author used this to explain to the reader that the leaves were making crunchy sounds and there were a lot of leaves and bushes.
  • at the end of the story, it starts to rain again and the children go inside, remembering that Margot was still in the closet...
