  • "The Tell Tale Heart" The narrator is attempting to sleep. Realize how he is sleeping worry free. He thinks he can fall asleep easily with no problem.
  • "The Tell Tale Heart" Now the narrator feels the old man approaching him. He is scared of the old man because of his eye. "He had the eye of a vulture --a pale blue eye" (Pg.1).  By the way he describes the eye he is obviously aware of it and tries to stay away from it.
  • "The Tell Tale Heart" The narrator knows the old man is in the same room with him. He also knows the evil eye is being used on him. He then turned around because when the eye was on him his "blood ran cold; and so by degrees --very gradually" (Pg.1). For this reason he turned around and tried to ignore it but it didn't work because it happened almost every night.
  • "A Rose for Emily" Emily went to the druggist and asked for arsenic. The druggist asked her "why would she purchase this and what was the purpose for it" (Pg. 
  • "A Rose for Emily" She went to the house. She never been in the house ever and went inside. She most likely wants to give herself a tour of the inside.
