I want 75,000 volunteers
Tension rose between the Union and the Confederates and they went to war.
President Lincoln requests for 75,000 volunteers to fight in the civil war.
After 10 days after Abraham Lincoln announced how many volunteers were needed Emma Edmond desired to work at the hospital tent. The problem was women weren't allowed to go to war so she dressed up as Private Franklin Thompson and joined the war.
Emma enlisted to work in the Hospital tent. There she would cure wounded and injured men in combat.
One day Emma was walking around when she heard that a newcomer arrived and his name was James Vesey. James Vesey was Emma's old friend from Boston. Emma wanted to see him because she wanted to share her secret.
The same day Emma found out that Lieutenant Vesey was there in the same camp. Emma received the bad news that Lieutenant was shot and killed last night by a rebel party. When she heard the bad news Emma went to Mrs. Butlers house to tell her the secret she had. Emma wanted to avenge Lieutenant Vesey's death. And to do that she was signing up to be a spy.
