  • The United States went to war against Great Britain. That would have a really big impact on the young country’s future. The fighters were the war hawks.

  • Including the capture and burning of the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., in August 1814.Causes of the war included British attempts to restrict U.S. trade, the Royal Navy’s impressment of American seamen and America’s desire to expand its territory.
  • effect
  • Though neither the British nor the Americans gained or lost territory during the War of 1812, the conflict had many results, including the establishment of the Canadian border, the end of British influence among the northwest Indians, and the demise of the Federalist Party due to its anti-war stance.

  • We should probably build factories and start manufacturing our own products
  • The war of 1812 happened in January two weeks after U.S. and British envoys signed a peace treaty in Ghent, Belgium. Even so, it’s technically incorrect to say that the Battle of New Orleans was fought after the war, which didn’t officially end until February 16, 1815, when the Senate and President James Madison ratified the peace treaty
