Storyboard Text

  • After discussing how they would kill Caesar, the conspirators all stab Caesar. Casca does not want to be blamed for his actions and Brutus is the last to stab Caesar which really hurts Caesar's feelings.
  • Speak, hands, for me!
  • Et tu, Bruté?
  • Ambition's debt is paid.
  • Let us bathe our hands in Caesar's blood up to the elbows and besmear our swords
  • Calpurnia's vision (from Act 1) comes true when Romans start to bathe in Caesar's blood. Calpurnia even warned Caesar to not come to the Capitol but obviously, Caesar did not listen to his wife.
  • Stoop, then, and wash.
  • Why, he that cuts off twenty years of life cuts off so many years of fearing death.
  • At Caesar's funeral, Brutus gives a speech in which he tells the Romans (who are angry at Caesar's death) why he killed Caesar and whoever does not appreciate the fact that he helped kill Caesar to help Rome does not love their country and should speak up now.
  • If any, speak—for him have I offended. Who is here so rude that would not be a Roman? If any, speak—for him have I offended. Who is here so vile that will not love his country? If any, speak—for him have I offended. I pause for a reply.
  • While Antony is giving his speech he purposely makes the conspirators seem like horrible people (which goes exactly against what Brutus and others told him not to do).
  • This the most unkindest cut of all; For when the noble Caesar saw him stab, ingratitude, more  strong than traitors' arms , Quite vanquished him. Then burst his mighty heart.
  • Cinna the poet is killed by angry Plebians who think he is one of the conspirators who helped to kill Caesar.
  • Tear him to pieces! He's a conspirator!
  • I am Cinna the poet, I am Cinna the poet!
  • Tear him for his bad verses, tear him for his bad verses!
