Everyday during the beginning of kindergarten, Laurie would come home with a story of a boy in her class named Charles acting very badly.
Charles has done many things in Laurie’s kindergarten class from being fresh to the teacher to hitting, kicking, and spanking a couple of adults.
Charles is fresh to the teacher!
Because of these stories about Charles, Laurie’s mom and dad become worried that his kindergarten experience may cause a bad influence on him but decide that it will be okay since there will always be people like Charles in the world.
I'm worried about Laurie.
Don't be worried. Their will always be people in this world like Charles.
Laurie’s parents really wanted to meet Charles’s mom at the Parents-Teachers meeting but she had to take care of Laurie’s sibling.
Because of Laurie talking about him every night, his name was an institution in the household and used for when they did something bad.
When the baby was crying, she was being a Charles.
During the third and fourth weeks of school, Charles suddenly was acting like he was reincarnated because he was good in class.
The parents still wanted to meet Charles' mom because his behavior changed so much like he was good the 3rd and 4th week but after that he became bad again.
Good job, Charles! Here is an apple as a prize for being so good!
Laurie’s mom had a second chance to meet Charles’ mom at the P.T.A. meeting but doesn’t see her so she goes up to her son's teacher.
Laurie's mother then stated to the teacher, "Laurie loves kindergarten." The teacher stated in confusion with the mom, “Laurie had some trouble adjusting for a couple of weeks but recently he has become a great helper besides a few occasions, of course.”
"Laurie adores kindergarten and does great he has been telling me!"
"Well, he did have trouble adjusting at first but is good now except for in a few instances and is even my little helper.
Laurie's mom was shocked because usually she adjusts well and concludes it must be Charles. The teacher then tells the mom that their is no Charles in her kindergarten class.
Because Charles isn’t real and Laurie is actually the class helper and misbehaves sometimes, Charles was the way he voiced his day to his parents when he misbehaved and behaved well.
"Laurie usually adjust well so it must be Charles."
