Amphinomus went up to Odysseus next, he ran towards Odysseus with his sword. Telemachus saw Amphinomus start to run towards Odysseus, so Telemachus threw his spear at Amphinomus' back. Amphinomus got hit in the shoulders and straight up his chest and then fell to the floor dead.
As the suitors continuously fight against Odysseus Melanthius makes the decision that he is going to steal Odysseus' weapons and bring them back to the suitors. Melanthius followed through with his plan and stole shields, spears and helmets. Odysseus then found out about his stolen armor and then figured it out that it was Melanthius who has stole it. Melanthius continued to steal but ended up getting caught by the swineherd who then told Odysseus and Odysseus demanded Melanthius to be tied up.
Athena decides that she will take Odysseus' side during this battle over the suitors. She continuously made each of the suitors miss their target.
Leodes was the last of the suitors, he begged Odysseus for mercy. Odysseus responded to him by confronting him about how he probably wished that Odysseus would never come home. With that said Odysseus picked up an arrow and killed Leodes.
The poet Phemius who was forced to sing for the suitors at their feasts was left. He begged Odysseus to spare his life. Telemachus then joins the conversation to tell his father that they must not kill Phemius, since he took care of Telemachus as a child.
Eurycleia told Odysseus that she found out that 12 of the 15 women are sluts. Odysseus as a punishment made these women clean up the dead bodies
