  • We have no money!
  • TAXES! TAXES!
  • Please give me food!
  • Nah.. Food's expensive these days!
  • I am SO rich!
  • IN FRANCE, THE POOREST PEOPLE WERE BEING TAXED TO PAY OFF THE COUNTRY'S MASSIVE DEBT.
  • Due to food shortages, prices went up and most people couldn't afford to buy any.
  • MEANWHILE THE KING AND HIS QUEEN AND NOBLES WERE LIVING LAVISHLY WITHOUT PAYING A DIME IN TAX.
  • The king called the general assembly together for the first time in almost a century to talk about the tax system and the national debt. Even though the third estate was much larger than the first two, each estate only got one vote and the third estate was easily outvoted.
  • This angered the peasants and people of the third estate so the king tried using force on them which only resulted in the Bastille prison being attacked an Paris abandoned.
  • WAR!
