Storyboard Text

  • It begins with someone safely driving down a road with a seatbelt on and pleasant music is playing, really driving this image in as a perfect scene.
  • You can save your life with one simple trick
  • Wear Your Seatbelt
  • In the next scene we see two teens are traveling down the road. The girl on the left has her seatbelt on, but her friend doesn't. She tries to convince him to put it on, but her attempts are not working.
  • You should be wearing a seatbelt, it isn't safe to not wear one. It's also against the law.
  • Pfft, I don't need a seatbelt. Seatbelts are for losers.
  • Seatbelts are not for losers, they are for responsible drivers and passengers who value their lives!
  • The girl continues to try to convince her friend to wear his seat belt, and at this point she is starting to get frustrated with him. She tells him different statistics like 48.1% of people in fatal accidents in 2014  were not wearing seat belts, seat belts saved an estimated 14,668 lives in 2016, and people who don't wear seat belts are 30 times more likely to be ejected from the vehicle in a crash, increasing your chance of fatal injuries. Her friend is convinced that he is fine.
  • Wearing a seatbelt in the front seat reduces your risk of a fatal injury by 45%, and it reduces your risk of moderate to sever injury by 50%.
  • Yeah, but I'm a great driver. I highly doubt I'm going to get into a crash anytime soon.
  • The boy continues to point out reasons why he thinks it's okay to not wear a seat belt, when the girl yells for him to watch out and you hear a squeal of wheels.
  • Watch Out!
  • My parents hardly ever wear their seat belts, and they're fine. I think they made up those statistics to scare us.
  • The screen goes black and you hear the sounds of a car crash. You then hear the girl's voice, weak and worried, calling for help.
  • Crash
  • Help! My friend is hurt!
  • Screech
  • The girl wakes up in a hospital, worried and confused. The doctor comes in and she asks him about what happened. He tells her that she was in an accident and that her friend didn't survive. The girl burst into tears.
  • What happened? Where is my friend?
  • You were in an accident. I'm sorry but your friend didn't make it.
