  • Kay, What is Wrong?
  • Kay, I am sorry you are struggling. Have you always struggled with letters and words feeling jumbled?
  • Yes
  • Mrs. Blake, after assessing Kay's reading I think she is struggling with Dyslexia
  • Dyslexia is a learning disability where Kay has trouble with mixing up different letters.
  • Now that we understand why Kay is struggling, we can give her strategies to help her read fluently.
  • Like what?
  • I will teach her how to use line readers when reading long passages. We will also use multi sensory activities for writing to help her. She can also use spell check when writing to help with spelling.
  • Thank you for giving me ideas on how to read easier. With what you taught me, I am not mixing up letters as much and can read this story!
