Candy is a big motive for me to do good in school.
Dear you're using the word wrong I think you mean motive.
So whats a motif?
Motif is an idea that repeats.
ohhh like "we'll do all the stuff we always did, hear the same stories, laugh at the same joke" (108)
An example of a motif is family from the book "Brown Girl Dreaming"
So that's a motif because it's repeating the idea of family.
Another example is "But I want the world where my daddy is and don't know why anybody's god will make me have to choose." This shows that Jacqueline really loves her grandpa. (123)
yeah you're getting the hang of it
OH MY GOSH IT'S JACQUELINE WOODSON
I heard you talking about my book. I couldn't help but say that a good motif for family is " I am too sleepy to tell her that Greenville is home." (137) This is when my mom was moving to New York and leaving some of my family behind.
So why did you put motif's in your book?
I put motif's in my book so readers can understand what is really important to me. Like family I think that family is the most important motif in my book
