After the marital subsystem comes the parental subsystem. In the time you are preparing to have kids lots of questions come to mind. Where will they go to school? Will you raise them in a religious/spiritual home? What if our baby has a developmental problems. (That's always on my mind)
To ensure that children have a safe environment to grow up in, it is important to work as a team. Everyone has a different way of problem solving but they need to find a common ground with each of their children. When is it time to let your child be independent?
When there are those occasions that your child/children have disabilities parents can become helicopters that never land. It's not healthy to be that way because you need to let your children fall in order to pick themselves up. You can be there to hold their hand and support them as well. Let's not forget that there needs to be common ground between a helicopter parent and a parent that just doesn't care.
