  • The Arctic Council and the World Council of Indigenous Peoples have a meet every four years
  • World Councils of the Indigenous Peoples
  • Everybody here is from an Arctic place. Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Russia
  • We are here to discuss the strategies for protecting the fragile Arctic environment. Being we are the Arctic Council there should be each country has a representative at this meeting
  • Mary Simon created a council that broke new ground by combining representatives of Arctic Indigenous groups and the governments of the Arctic countries
  • Mary Simon She is the creator of the Arctic Council. She had been appointed Canada's first ambassador of Circumpolar affairs. She lead the movement to create the council.
