Storyboard Text

  • "There is something missing in that boy" Baba is talking about the lack on manliness and how he cannot believe he is his son at times.
  • The strong, powerful, wealthy man is well off for himself but is unable to connect with his son. Possibly depressed since his wife died in child birth. Could blame Amir for stealing his mom or Baba's right to live
  • Baba: Amir tells us that his father is a large man, big arms and chest, and has a full beard.
  • Amir: thin boy, a little sallow, short, dark circles around his eyes, pale hazel eyes, and light brown hair.
  • Kind of a nerd in the way that he likes to read more than play or watch socer. Dominant friend ofver Hassan, when Amir tells Hassan to do something he will, like sling shot rocks at a dog.
  • "Really? You'd do that? Eat dirt if I told you to?" A prime example of the one way relationship between Amir and Hassan.
  • "Amir agha won the tournament and I ran this kite for him. I ran it fairly. This is his kite" This would be an example of how faithful and loyal Hassan is to Amir, even when he is cornered by bullies.
  • Loyal and obedient friend to Amir. Does whatever is asked. Best kite runner Amir has seen because he will get to the spot before the kite does. From the Hazara background therefore culturally inferior to Amir.
  • Hassan: Round face, flat, broad nose, slanting, narrow eyes, low-set ears, pointed chin, meaty appendage, and a cleft lip.
  • Ali: Polio left him with a crippled right leg so he walks with a limp. Common mongoloid characteristics of a flat nose and looked Chinese. Paralysis in his face to prevent smiling
  • "They're hunting ducks, they hunt ducks at night, you know" This was during the bombing and it demonstrates his innocence and want to protect Hassan and Amir.
  • Faithful servant of Amir and Baba. He is a good worker. Respectful and shows more emotion towards Amir than Baba does.
