  • One of John Adams major accomplishments is that he kept America out of war with the French. John Adams wanted to normalize relations between the two countries. What almost caused America to go to war with the French is that the French were making raids on the Americans ships. So Adams send three ministers to work things out, and it worked.
  • Wrote part of the Declaration of Independence
  • Another accomplishment is that John Adams is the father of the US. Navy. John Adams signed the controversial alien and sedition act. Adams built up there army and the navy in nameless naval " Quasi- War" with France. The main reason why Adams is called the "father of the U.S navy" because of his strong posture on defense.

  • Another accomplishment is that John Adams was a lawyer and he defended the British soldiers that were involved in the Boston massacre. Two of the eight colonist were found guilty of manslaughter. This is a big accomplishment because he won the case.
  • One of the other major accomplishment John Adams had is that he wrote part of the Deceleration of Independence with Thomas Jefferson. The Deceleration of Independence made the United States a independent country.  The Deceleration of Independence gave us the rights to revolt against the government.

  • John Adams legacy left behind wasn't that great but it wasn't that bad either. His stubbornness left him lonely and isolated. John Adams also valued no ones opinion besides his own. John Adams did good by keeping the US. out of war with the French, signing part of the Declaration of Independence and defending the British troops from the Boston massacre.
