Storyboard Text

  • After the departure of the cabinet, Milo looks through the bustling word market, where there was a large assortment of words being sold. A  large bumblebee, the Spelling Bee, shows Milo his exquisite spelling skills, but soon the insect gets into a fight with the headstrong Humbug, and they knock down all of the stalls  of words.
  • A slavish concern for the composition of words is the sign of a bankrupt intellect!
  • You are an imposter! I-M-P-O-S-T-E-R!
  • WHAT
  • TRY
  • DOG
  • HAPPY
  • See you in 6 million years!
  • The squat Officer Shrift appears at the scene and irrationally arrests Milo and Tock for causing the destruction, and sends them to the dungeon.
  • I don't know what we're going to do for all that time.
  • Don't worry, something will turn up.
  •  The Which, who is also a prisoner in the dungeon, tells them both the story of the princesses, Rhyme and Reason.
  • What pleasure to lead my violins in a serenade of spring green or hear my trumpets blare out the blue sea and then watch the oboes tint it all in warm yellow sunshine.
  • Two kings, who were also brothers, always fought over which was better or more important, numbers or letters. They looked to the princesses, Rhyme and Reason for an answer as to which was greater. Since they said that both numbers and letters were equal, The kings banished the princesses to the Castle in the Air, and that is why there is no rhyme or reason in all the land.
  • Milo opens the cell door (Officer Shrift didn't lock it), and heads out with Tock to the royal banquet, where after the very large meal, King Azaz decides to send Milo, Tock, and the Humbug on a dangrous quest to bring back Rhyme and Reason.
  • You know I would love to take the perilous journey myself, but since it was your idea, YOU can have the honor and fame!
  • All the fame WOULD be nice....
  • I wonder what lies ahead...
  • In my family, we all start on the ground and grow up, not start in the air and grow down!
  • In the beginning of their quest, the three stumble into a boy who hovers three feet off the ground. He tells the group all about perspective.
  • It's all in the way you look at things! I'm Alec Bings!
  • Alec takes Milo, Tock, and the Humbug into the forest to see Chromo the great, the conductor of color, leads a concert that makes a beautiful sunset.
