At the age of 13, a peasant girl named Joan was spoken to by Saints. At the time, France and England were in battle, and the Saints told her to save France. She needed to put the dauphne on the throne.
Joan of arc
Joan went to find Charles, the one supposed to be on the throne. He tested her claims about God sending her by making someone else be him. She knew it wasn't and went to Charles instead, who agreed that God sent her.
Joan was first trying to free Orléans. She guided troops into Orléans. She got hit by an arrow and removed it then kept going. The English ended up retreating.
Joan launched a surprise attack. The mayor saw the English coming and accidentally trapped Joan outside. Burgundian leaders took her and put her in prison, and Charles made no effort to free her.
I WILL get out of here.
The English people and the Catholic Church put Joan on trial. Joan stood up to the Bishop and English, and the people watching loved her courage. She ended up being burned at the stake.
Joan was burned because people claimed she knew "witchcraft". The people that burned her wanted to prove that God did not lead her on her journey. Joan was remembered and a confident and brave person.
We will all remember Joan.
