Storyboard Text

  • John
  • One afternoon, a man and his family crossed paths with another man and began to make conversation
  • Have you heard of the Parliament's latest taxing laws?
  • Mr. Smitt
  • Yes, my family and I have had a rough time dealing with them. We do not believe that they are very fair.
  • Would you care to join us for supper?
  • Julia Smitt
  • Ms. Smitt
  • Abe Smitt
  • I would love to join you for supper.
  • Wonderful, we can talk about these awful taxes in more detail then.
  • What is your least favorite tax? Mine would have to be the Townshend Act.
  • Yeah, it doesn't seem right to make us pay for things coming from Britain. After all, WE came from Britain.
  • My least favorite tax is the Stamp Act. I hate paying tax on all of my letters and having no say in where my money goes.
  • I don't like the Sugar Act. It really bugs me. The other day, 3 men barged into our house and took away all of our spices to "check them out" due to the Writs of Assistance. That is why our shelves are empty.
  • Well, nice talk, but I should get going...
  • Goodbye!
