The Berlin Blockade was multinational occupation of post–World War II Germany where the Soviet Union blocked the Western allies' railways access to the sectors of Berlin under Western control.
The Western Allies established the Berlin airlift to carry supplies over to the West. It was difficult to do so regarding the size of West Berlin, but it had succeeded by end of April 1949 and brought more in than the railway.
All of this tension has caused a great amount of stress on the people. All we ask for is the West to fairly compromise with USSR for the sake of the people.
On 12 May 1949, the USSR lifted the blockade of West Berlin. The Berlin Blockade served to highlight the competing ideological and economic visions for postwar Europe
The Communist Party of Czechoslovakia had always held dominance in region. Since the 1920's they had a tight relationship with the Soviet Union.
Both in the cabinet and in parliament tension between the Communists and their opponents led to increasingly bitter conflict

Benes, fearful of civil war and Soviet intervention, capitulated. He accepted the resignations of the non-Communist ministers and appointed a new government in accordance with KSC demands. The communists moved quickly to consolidate their power.
