Charles was a young boy who was different from others. He had always liked to sit in the living room and watch his favorite T.V. show. He enjoyed the History channel, which was different from most of the kids in his class.
Most of the other kids watched other things on T.V. like sports, but Charles had been interested in history ever since his teacher had given him a lesson on the U.S. Constitution.
One of the many things that had interested Charles, was the creation of a country. He had learned about the creation of the Articles of Confederation which revolved around federalism. The articles would later not be able to be enough for the rules of our country. The founding fathers would put together an introduction called the Preamble then make the Constitution.
However, their were many problems with the Constitution. Many refused to agree upon it unless there were changes. A major change was the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights including many amendments, including the 1st Amendment which was a major thing for individual rights for the people. After these amendments, the people signed this social contract.
Our country came together through popular sovereignty, and formed a republic. The Constitution is still in effect till this day. It really is the basis of our country. It has limited powers which make's sure the people have power, and other things that state who has the power to what, such as expressed powers, reserved powers, and concurrent powers.
Now, Charles knows about the free exercise clause, and the establishment clause, he knows he is protected by these clauses and the Constitution that were made so long ago.
