Storyboard Text

  • Fritz Gluckstein was born on January 24, 1927, in Berlin, Germany. His dad was a Jewish, faithful, and decorated veteran in World War I. His mom on the other hand was a non Jew, so Fritz was considered a Geltungsjude. Therefore, he was treated like every other Jew.
  • Everything started to get very bad for the Jews. Fritz's Jewish school got shut down so he didn't have a place to work.
  • After his school shut down, he was sent to go to work. He was sent to A Jewish cemetery as his first job.
  • His third job was being part of a clean up crew for air raids.
  • After working at the cemetery, he worked at a factory.
  • As the war went on, food rations got slimmer and slimmer. His family was starving.
  • In the year 1948 when Israel became a state, Fritz moved to the United States of America.
