Byron throws a cookie at a mourning dove and feels really bad which is very rare because he usually feels remorse for anybody but himself. this is the rising action because it shows a character change in emotion
The climax is when the watsons go to birmingham and meet grandma sands for the first time because thats when they switch settings and there are different problems in the plot.
The falling action is when the church was bombed and the girls were killed and the people were hurt this is the falling action because this is what caused the family to leave early.
The conclusion is when the watsons get back to flint michigan and byron tries to help kenny coop with what he saw and the wool pooh
the theme is life is a journey of challenges because throughout the book there are many challenges but they are overcame by the family
