Mohammad Ramjam was forced to hide in a graveyard along with his family for 2 days to save his life. His father who was a police officer witnessed many corpses and mobs.
Akhtar Hussain Rana recalls how his cousin who was a landowner was killed along with three women in the building. Men of the village took up arms and rushed into the town.
Kazi Shamsuzzaman recalls that there was a very bad riot that broke out in which eight people died and they lost everything they owned and the women fled with nothing but their jewlery.
Mehmuda Khatoon recalls the on the spot decision to leave their home by her mother after her father had recently died of natural causes. The descion was made due to rumors of violence in the area. She also recalls that they left with nothing and didn't even bother to turn off the stove.
Abdul Rheman recalls how he was working in a field with his brother when he heard news that the surrounding villages had been raided and that people had died including his cousins. When the boys returned to their village, they saw that the stores had been looted and the people killed.
Hakeem ud-Din recalls how many invaded his village and burnt it to ashes. In order to save themselves, he and his family were forced to hide in the foredt for 50 days.
