  • I am being punished because I own a business?!
  • Hahahah, yeah, women don't deserve power. You should be at home cleaning the house, that is the only thing you are good at! You are free to go but don't start attempting to have a business, again, hahahahaaaaaaa.

  • What is going on?!
  • This Witch was found having a job! I'm just happy that this job stealer was found.
  • P-please I am not a witch!
  • Are you disrespecting me?! Hahaha a disrespectful Witch with a job. Have fun behind bars!
  • Women were expected to maintain the household, encourage faith and moral development for children, and their identity and property were always connected to men. Also,  if women weren't born into a wealthy family, they would run the household (take care of children, clean, make meals, do laundry, take care of the man of the house, etc...). These expectations blocked women's chances of ever proving men wrong about how they are more powerful than men think, showing that men looked down on women and expected them to do the work men didn't want to do.
  • Men did not often step out of their gender roles because there was no need for it. They enjoyed all the freedom they wanted while women lacked that freedom and often were punished and tormented when they possessed any for of power. Women were not allowed to be in professions like law, medicine, etc...  This shows that because men believed women weren't capable of such power, women weren't able to have a chance to have a career.
  • Women couldn't have jobs and were expected to respect all male figures.  When a women gained power, they would most likely be accused of being a witch. This punishment was particularly effective because the woman accused was rarely able to gain public support for her cause. This shows that men wanted to take every chance a women could have of receiving power away. Men were able to thrive and gain as much power as they wanted while women were left behind to clean and care for the household.
