  • I'm the president yee!
  • Impressment and Native American Resistance
  • You have been taken by British navy and now you must join us!!! Bwahaha
  • Naval battles and Battle of Thames
  • James Madison was the 5th president and served from 1808-1812. He demanded war during his time in office.
  • Battle of Washington DC and Fort McHenry
  • The British impressment was when the British navy continued to capture American sailors. They enrolled these captured Americans into their own navy. England captured over 1,000 American ships and thousands of citzens. Native American resistance was when the Natives teamed up with England and attacked Northwest settlers.
  • Battle of New Orleans
  • We won!! Go america!
  • The beginning of the war of 1812 was fought at sea. Britian won the first battle where they succesfully sunk Perry's navy ship. America came back when Harrison caught up with England and defeated them in the battle of Thames. After this battle British were no longer a threat in the Northwest.
  • Effects of war of 1812
  • Well, I guess it's time to leave the Midwest. I will miss it here :(
  • Spring of 1814 British won the war against France and could focus all it's energy on the war of 1812. Later that year England soldiers burnt and destroyed the city of Washington. After Britain demolished DC they tried to take Fort McHenry but American soldiers were able to keep it from being taken
  • On January 18,1815 american militia met a larger group of English soldiers. But at the end of the battle British had 2,000 deaths while America had only 71! After the battle Andrew Jackson was known as a war hero
  • There were many effects of the War of 1812. America became more industrialized because they had to produce goods they normally got from Britain. The Midwest was basically deserted as the the Native American Resistance was removed from the Ohio River Valley. America also gained more respect within the country and globally
