Jesus sat with His disciples at a table. At that meal, Jesus took a piece of bread and said a prayer of thanks. He broke it and gave it to His disciples, telling them that the bread was now His Body.
One of the disciples named Judas went to see the chief priests. Judas asked what they would give him if he no longer followed Jesus. The chief priests gave him 30 silver coins.
Jesus was then stripped of his clothing, and was given a purple cloak to wear.
Next, they made a crown from thorny branches. They placed it on His head and put a stick in His right hand. The people knelt in front of Him and made fun of him.
A crowd of people wanted Jesus to be crucified. A man named Pontius Pilate wanted to keep the crowds happy, so he told the crowds that Jesus would be.
The soldiers took Jesus to a place called Golgotha where He would be crucified. Jesus carried His own cross there.
