- We do not receive enough money for basics
- Houses are better now, thanks Fairtrade!
- Farmers living in Low Income Countries (LIC for short), often get paid unfair prices for the hard work they do. Wages are usually not enough for basic living and education.
- That's where Fairtrade comes in. Fairtrade ensures fair prices for a farmer's work. Everyone in the village/community works together on everyone's farms to make lots of money through Fairtrade Premium.
- This money goes towards either improved farms or improved lifestyle in the village. When funding the village, toilets and clean water pumps can be installed as well as schools and the equipment needed.
- The community is forbidden from using the forest; they can't fish in there rainforest, use the logs and more.
- Farmers are being taught sustainable and good ways to farm. For example, how to mange crop diseases by burying infected plants, grow them properly and others.
