Storyboard Text

  • Towards the end of the Roman Empire, Germanic barbarians started to invade Roman territory, causing problems in the Roman way of life.
  • Rome had one of the most powerful armies on Earth, so the emperor had the army fight these barbarians.
  • In the 300s, the Roman Army suffered multiple losses to the barbarians. Rome was sacked by the Visigoths in 410, and again by the Vandals in 455.
  • In 476, the Germanic leader Odoacer killed Romulus Augustulus, the last emperor of Rome.
  • This resulted in the end of the Roman civilization, allowing them to become another part of history.
