Towards the end of the Roman Empire, Germanic barbarians started to invade Roman territory, causing problems in the Roman way of life.
Rome had one of the most powerful armies on Earth, so the emperor had the army fight these barbarians.
In the 300s, the Roman Army suffered multiple losses to the barbarians. Rome was sacked by the Visigoths in 410, and again by the Vandals in 455.
In 476, the Germanic leader Odoacer killed Romulus Augustulus, the last emperor of Rome.
This resulted in the end of the Roman civilization, allowing them to become another part of history.
