Carver made many uses for peanut butter. However, he didn’t create peanut butter. George Washington Carver was born around1864. He was born in Missouri, Diamond. The exact year or date of birth is unknown because he was born into slavery. He was born during the civil war and a week later his mom, his sister and George was kidnapped by raiders. They were sold at an auction, and George was found by one of Moses men. He was sent back and he was reunited with his brother James. Slavery ended at 1865, a year later. Moses and his wife, Susan decided to keep them and teach them how to read and write. They thought them themselves because no nearby school would accept black students. George craved for knowledge and decided to walk ten miles to go to a school that would accept black children. He attended a number of schools before getting his diploma at High School in Minneapolis, Kansas. He was accepted in a college in Highland, Kansas. He was denied entry when the administrators learn about his race. “When our thoughts—which bring actions—are filled with hate against anyone, Negro or white, we are in a living hell. That is as real as hell will ever be.”
