  • Those people taxed so much on sugar, I don’t want to receive it anymore!
  • Stamp Act
  • Mom, can my brother and I play cards?
  • I’m sorry dear, cards are too expensive!
  • The British set laws that they can search for illegal goods in the colonies. This angered the colonists because many exports they do are smuggled.
  • Quartering Act
  • The British taxed the colonists on sugar products like molasses and made harsh punishments on the imports on smuggled goods. The colonists were angered because they import smuggled goods. They also couldn't stand the high tax
  • Townshend Act
  • Must we receive these imports? They grew  so expensive
  • The British set taxes on paper products like playing cards and newspapers. The colonists cant stand the high tax.
  • Declaratory Act
  • Let's make the Parliament in charge of the colonists!
  • The British set laws that colonial households should provide for the British soldiers food and other needs. The colonists think that the British are violating their rights.
  • The British saw that the colonists were fighting against their taxes so they try to lower it down by only set taxes on imports. This act also angered the colonists
  • The British, after resolving many acts, passed a law that angered the colonists even more. They made parliaments full control over the colonies.
